The reality we experience is not “out there”, it is what our brains create for us. Our brains create solid objects were there are none, pretty colors where there are only electromagnetic waves. And on top of that, our brains create angels and demons, just like our smart phones create Pokémon.

I know this. And yet I remain amazed by how far these additional fictions can remove people from reality. Sure, getting to the truth is hard work. But angels, gods and demons? For example, has a god ever spoken to two people at the same time? A little group discussion? Has anyone ever videoed an angel or a demon? At least there are blurry pictures of UFOs.
